"Hook a Kid on Golf , Tee Level Clinic"

This is a program designed for 8-15 year old youth who have never played golf and do not own a set of clubs. There are no costs to the participants. Sponsorship is provided by the Birch Ridge Golf Association and the National Alliance for Youth Sports.

The Clinic is open to 16 young people with applications turned in by April 16, 2012.  Selection will be based on a drawing to be completed by April 19, 2012.  Those drawn will be notified by phone immediately following the drawing.  If those drawn find they cannot attend for any reason, other names will be drawn so we can have a full class of 16. To receive an application either call Bob Sizemore @ 262-5130 or email him at bsizemore@acsalaska.net.

Participants selected will receive Training from Birch Ridge Golf Course Head Pro, Tom Walsh and his assistants. Participants selected will receive golf balls, tees, cap, golf shirt, golf bag and 4 clubs.

The Clinic will be held Monday, June 4th to Friday June 8th, 2012 at Birch Ridge Golf Course.

(All participants are required to attend each session)

An orientation Meeting for Parents and participants will be held on June 1st at 6PM at Birch Ridge Golf Course.

As part of the Tee Level Clinic, each youngster is provided with a starter set of golf clubs and other golf items needed to begin to learn the game. In addition to being taught basic swing fundamentals, there are special 30-minute presentation dealing with rules & etiquette, drug and alcohol awareness and golf course maintenance that are part of a Tee Level Clinic. At the end of the clinic, youngsters get to keep their clubs and all their other materials including a member bag tag that signifies their completion of the Tee Level Clinic.
