Age range (6-17)
On the final day June 18th we will have a BBQ at 11:30am to celebrate the graduates. All are welcome!
There are 2 categories that each junior falls into.
1) Beginning golfers – Juniors with less than 2 years experience. The main focus for this group is to learn basic full swing, short game, and putting fundamentals. Beginners will also introduced to golf rules and etiquette. The participants will receive a certificate of completion. A required level of skill, which is determined by the instructors, will be required to advance to the next group.
2) Advanced golfers – Juniors who have exceeded the beginners level. Primary focus will be on advancing skill development, additional course play, and preparing golfers to be able to play by themselves. Upon completion of this level juniors will be given an opportunity to qualify for Alaska state competitions. Qualification will be based on merit as well as a minimum skill score. Participants will be also be allowed to play on the golf course without parental supervision with the consent of the intstructors.
Zac Cowan and Bill Enberg will direct and supervise the BRGA Junior Program. Help! Help! If you can assist in the BRGA Junior Golf Program, we really need your help. Juniors who have completed the program, seniors, parents, we need your help to make this program a great experience for our little duffers. Please contact the golf course if you can help.
